Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara, OC was born March 4, 1954. She is a comedian as well as an actress and writer. O'Hara is the proud winner of several awards that include the Genie Award. In 2018, O'Hara was made an Officer of Canada. In 2020 she was awarded the Governor General’s Performing Arts Performing Arts Artistic Achievement Award. O'Hara became famous as an actor when she joined in 1974 of The Second City, an Improvisational comedy troupe based out of Toronto. Together with John Candy (1975-1978), she was part of the main casting for the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara, Candy, and Dan Aykroyd first began working on Second City Television's sketch comedy series (1976-1984). O'Hara received high praise for her comedy acting and writing abilities which earned her the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writer for the Variety Series in 1982. O'Hara, Steve Carell and Dwayne Colbert were included on the Second City artistic board in 2022.
